All new patient consultations are conducted in-office to allow for a comprehensive and personalized evaluation. Initial visits typically last approximately 45 min to one hour and are designed to better understand your sleep concerns, overall health, lifestyle, and goals. Review of current symptoms, sleep patterns, medical history, medications, and any prior sleep testing or treatments. A focused clinical exam will be performed as clinically indicated. Together, we will evaluate potential contributing factors affecting your sleep and overall well-being.
For patients struggling with insomnia, care is approached thoughtfully and without judgement. Many people worry they will simply be told to “sleep better’ or immediately taken off medications. This is not our approach to restorative sleep. The goal is to understand the full picture, identify contributing factors, and develop a realistic, individualized plan that supports both better sleep and improved quality of life.
For patients already diagnosed with sleep apnea or currently using CPAP therapy, consultations also include a review of current treatment challenges and available treatment options. If you are frustrated with CPAP, struggling with comfort, mask fit, pressure settings, or ongoing fatigue despite treatment, we will work together to evaluate potential solutions and optimize therapy when appropriate. Alternative treatment options may also be discussed based on your needs and clinical findings.
If additional evaluation is needed, appropriate diagnostic testing - including home sleep testing when indicated will be ordered.
On follow up, a personalized treatment plan, recommendations and medication issues will be reviewed based on your specific needs and clinical findings.
